What we have done

• Contrast. Every text and background pair on the site comes from a fixed palette, and each pair was measured against the WCAG ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and for boundaries that carry meaning) before it was allowed into the design system. Colors that only pass on a dark background are not permitted as text on a light one.
• Tap targets. Buttons, links in navigation, and form controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels. Most of the people reading this site are on a phone, sometimes an older one, sometimes one-handed on a train.
• Keyboard navigation. Everything you can do with a mouse you can do with a keyboard: the menu, the language selector, the forms, every link. Focus indicators are visible, not suppressed.
• Skip link. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing in the tab order on every page, so you are not walked through the whole menu on each new page.
• Headings. One H1 per page, and headings below it nest in order without skipping levels. Headings describe the section rather than decorate it, so heading-by-heading navigation in a screen reader actually gets you somewhere.
• Images. Images that carry information have alt text that says what they show. Images that are purely decorative are marked so assistive technology skips them instead of reading a filename aloud.
• Motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site respects it and animations do not run. There are no auto-playing videos, no carousels that move on their own, no countdown timers, and nothing that flashes.
• No horizontal scrolling. Pages are verified at 390 pixels wide, which is a common phone width. Content reflows instead of forcing you to scroll sideways to read a sentence.
• Tables. Wide tables scroll inside their own container rather than pushing the whole page sideways, they are reachable by keyboard, and they keep real table headers so a screen reader can announce which column a cell belongs to.

What we will do about it

We aim to acknowledge an accessibility report within two business days and to tell you what we found and when we can fix it. If a fix will take time, we will say so, and we will get you the information you were after by another route in the meantime: by phone, by email, or in a different format.
