Mikhail Usher founded Usher Law Group in 2013 and has represented immigrants for more than twenty years. He tries removal cases in immigration court, takes them to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the federal courts of appeals, and reviews every substantive page on this site.

Removal defense is trial work, and Mr. Usher came to it as a trial lawyer. At St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami he competed on the school's national champion mock trial team and served as a Student Bar Association senator. He clerked for Judge Amy Steele Donner in Dade County, Florida, then spent three years at a Brooklyn firm where he built its criminal division, before opening Usher Law Group in Sheepshead Bay in 2013.
That background is why this practice looks the way it does. A criminal record is the single fact that most changes what relief is available in immigration court, and a lawyer who has defended criminal cases reads a record of conviction differently from one who has not.
